GST: Average Monthly GST Collection At Rs 89,885 Crore

The Finance Ministry said that the administration collected average monthly Goods and Services Tax (GST) of Rs 89,885 crore in the August to March period.

The aggregate income collected under the new national sales tax from August 2017 to March 2018 was Rs 7.19 lakh crore, the service said in a statement.

While the tax on domestic supplies in a month is collected through the procedure of profits and gets collected in the following month, Integrated GST and cess on imports gets collected around the same time. Hence, amid the present year, GST on domestic supplies has been collected just in eight months from August 2017 to March 2018, IGST and cess on imports have been collected for nine months, from July 2017 to March 2018.
